Gig Finder is a free tool that helps you find live music that you will enjoy in your area. The intelligent application provides you with relevant recommendations based on your taste in music, and on your location.
Load up Gig Finder, and the program will display suggestions of upcoming gigs and music events. It uses information from your profile as well as the music you have on your device to detect which type of bands or acts you might like. It also detects you location and shows you events that are closest to where you are.
The simple-to-use tabbed interface lets you browse events, venues and perform searches by genre, artist, city, date ranges, etc. Unfortunately at present, this search is a little limited and didn't return many results in our tests, but I guess as development proceeds on Gig Finder, more content will be added.
Once you've found a gig that you'd like to go to you can use Gig Finder to save it as an event in your phone's calendar, buy tickets online, view the venue on a map or use the 'Share' button to tell your friends about it or add it as a Facebook event.
Provided you live near one of the cities covered by the app, Gig Finder will offer you a smarter way to find live music in your area.
